Chinese quad help part 2
#1
Hi there guys I have a Chinese quad zhenhua zhst250-7 and it’s got no
spark. I need some help with the wiring I already have or help buying a
new loom kit. The wiring I have now is all a mess at the moment.
Thank you

Go through the "help diagnose stator" sticky in the "engine problems" section. If you have enough electrical knowledge to fit a new loom you have enough to fix your existing one, and it may not be a wiring problem anyway, the tests in help diagnose stator should pin point the problem.

Thank you so much for getting back to me.
Is there a wiring diagram for this or where I can find one from. Or a new loom as the old wiring has been chopped and cut in several places by the previous owner to fit a remote start on it.
Many thanks

Wiring diagrams are difficult to find, somehow click baiters seem to be able to fool search engines into sending you to them if you try to find one on line, and I suspect many Chinese makers never put out a diagram in the first place, as few produce a service manual for their machines. That is one problem with new looms too, as they don't always match up with the existing switches and electrical components. If the starter system works on the existing loom, you could wire in a "bare bones" ignition system. First you need to know if your set up is AC, which uses power from a separate coil (not the pulse coil which all "contactless" ignition systems have) or DC which uses battery power for ignition, and wire the ignition components to suit it. However you would undoubtedly find you are duplicating wires that are already there on the existing loom.

Thank you for getting back to me.
Its a dc loom it’s got a battery in it the whole loom is a mess right now it’s with the mechanic but they have put there hands up. I need to know what do do next
Is there a loom like this that I can get from anywhere.
Any help will be appreciated
Many thanks

As it has a starter motor it needs a battery. That does not mean it has DC ignition, most older and Chinese Quads don't. If a mechanic has given up, honestly do you think you can succeed? As you wrote "it’s got no spark" I assume the starter part of the wiring loom does work, so all you need is for the ignition system to work as well. If all the tests at the CDI indicate the stator is not the problem, nor the wiring to it, then the CDI or coil is probably at fault.

Thank you for getting back to me.
What does the CDI and the coil look like and where can I buy that from. It’s a 2014 model and is a road legal one.
Many thanks

If you have looked at the "help diagnose stator" sticky, it shows pictures of CDIs, but they come in many shapes and sizes. The coil is on the other end of the plug lead. Honestly, if your knowledge is that limited, I suspect you would be best trying another mechanic, one who understands electrics and CDI ignition systems, rather than trying to fix it yourself.
