I'm trying to figure out why a 1986 Kawasaki 250 Tecate 3 wheeler is worth $6500-? Are they that popular?

I could buy a new big bore sports quad, a 2009 Polaris 850xp- or any other big bore sports quad for less.

This is true, but that would not be a Tecate 3 wheeler that they don't make anymore, in excellent condition. Just the same as some older rare cars cost more now than a new one. Similar situation.

Not everyone wants to pay 50k for an old mustang, but some people do.

 

I guess so- but comparing the market for a classic mustang to the market of a tecate 250 3 wheeler is a bit of a stretch... both in application and in desirability.

just doing a simple quick google search found 3 86 tecate 250's in great shape for under $1500. Parts on ebay are cheap as hell- can grab a motor & tranny for $300...

 

West coast you might find a buyer for about 2500. But it would have to be in pristine condition.

 

My search skills must be lacking. Please post links so I can do some better research. All ads I saw were 5+ years old.
