It looks much better now since I've been able to get 95% of the black off. There's just no saving the plastics from the grooves.

That's my guess too. The rest of it was all there. It hadn't run in some years. Cleaned the carb, messed with the petcock and was able to bring the battery back to life with the CTEK. Runs ok for not dumping almost any money into it at all yet. Seems choppy when you lay on the throttle, but hopefully I'll be able to come up with a reason for that. The one in your avatar looks great!

Thx...it's an oldie ('88), but was in good shape...avatar is a keep-sake...quad will look nothing like it soon!
