Dear ATV Riders
Yes! This is what you have all been waiting for, but first let us Thank You for participating on our previous runs, especially the one that just past (The 7th Annual Charity Poker Run). Without you our run would not be what it has become today. Last year we were able to donate $22,000 to two children in the area who needed it most and this year we plan to do better, but we need your help.
We are now preparing for our 8th Annual Charity Poker Run and you are invited to take part in this event again. The 8th Annual Charity Poker Run will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2006 and start at Russell Farm located on 17B in Bethel.
There will be two different runs this year. You will choose between them on your registration form. The A run is 30 miles long with less terrain making it easier than Run B. Run B is a 50 mile run more suited for those who want a longer and more advanced run. Both runs are excellent and accommodating for all riders.
Unlike previous years, there will be NO LUNCH STOPS. Breakfast and dinner are included in the entry fee and will be served at the starting point.
Grouping will be the same as last year’s event. Groups will go out on a first come first out system. We will begin this process at 7:00 am. Now don’t fret there, you don’t all have to be there at 6:00am. Because of this system you will be in a group and riding as soon as you want after you have arrived and checked in. Also, if you want to ride with friends or with a certain group leader, plan ahead of time to arrive around the same time to avoid sitting around and waiting. To prevent groups from returning after dark we would like for the last group to leave no later than 9:30 am. So please arrive at 8:30 at the latest. Also remember, the earlier you come the earlier you begin your ride.
There will be a strict limit on the number of participants on this years run. The limit for the 8th Annual Charity Poker Run will be 800 riders, which will be divided as evenly as possible between the A and B runs. So sign up for the run you want as soon as possible before it becomes unavailable.
The registration fees and the dates they are needed by are as follows, $75 until August 31st and $100 from September 1st until the day of the event. There will be NO Exceptions for this rule. Hopefully this will encourage you to send in your registrations sooner. Doing so lessens our paperwork during the last few weeks before our run. So sign up early and save yourself from extra costs.
Last year we had a lot of breakdowns. To avoid this we have included a checklist of items with the conformation letter to help you make sure your ATV is in the best condition to complete and enjoy the poker run. Remember to be safe. A helmet, gloves, and goggles are necessary.
There is NO ALCOHOL permitted during the run. Beer will be available after the run has ended and you have loaded your ATV for departure.
That sums up everything for this year. Remember to include all the information needed with your registration. We hope to see you at the 8th Annual Charity Poker Run this upcoming September.
Thank you! Because it is all of you that have helped this run become as successful as it is today.
Sincerely,
The Sullivan County ATV Association

September 9th NY Charity ATV Poker Run Sullivan County
Good evening,
I just read the thread concerning your Sept 9th Charity Ride. Unfortunately, we just got our new toy 2 weeks ago so we missed it. I see there may be some in the winter????
Do I need to print out 2 seperate forms for my wife and I when we register for one of your events or do we use one form for the two of us?
Hope to see you soon.
