Default stupid question

The profile of the tire is basically the difference between the diameter of the rim and height of the tire.

For example, I would classify an 18-10-10 tire as a low profile tire. The sidewall is relatively short. On others, the sidewall is taller, as would be with an 20-10-10 or 22-11-10.

The benefeit is that the shorter sidewall does not flex as much, does not roll as much in the corners and therefore, keeps more tread on the ground at any given time.

I would consider a 20-10-9 a standard tire at least for sport bikes and use this for a standard of what is a high profile or low profile tire.
