How much does a new TCS rear shock cost? Or should I just get my old shock revalved by TCS. How good is the revalved compared to the new one.
Also, where is the best place to buy TCS shocks?

I contacted Todd at TCS (I believe he is the owner. Just call CT Racing, he is in the same building)

I have TCS's on the front of my EX and they are excellent and make the rear seem inadequate.

I asked him the same questions you are asking here and his reply was, 3 options:

1.) A simple rebuild/revalve, I believe it was around $240. Revalve, reseal, reoil, and respring (can't remember if this one includes hard anodizing) your current shock for your skill and style.

2.) Something like $420. Includes mods for additional travel, zero preload, dual spring setup, hard anodizing of the shock body and the above mods. This is what most folks do and is the best "bang for the buck".

3.) A complete new shock, around $820. Larger diameter body and shaft, allows for different shim stack setups, better cooling, etc... He said mostly the people who get this option get a new bike every year and do this so they can return it to stock when trade-in time comes.

Those are the options available for the 400EX anyway.....

96Bansh; I got my TCS from K&K atv out of Mass.... They are KILLER shocks! I got new fronts and had the rear rebuilt to the TCS specs. The factory rear shocks are good shocks but they are built to an average weight and rider style. Todd at TCS(yes he is the owner) can redo your stocker with great results.
good luck

If your name indicates you ride a Banshee, I think your best bet would be a rebuild, assuming your shock body is in good shape. log onto C.T. Racing's web page & see all the available options for Yamahas.
