Thanks for all the info. I have heard lots of great things about 589s. Here is the next question: I have seen tires called Titan 589s and I have seen tires called ITP 589s. What are the differences and which would be best for his application? Thanks again,

Also check rockymountainatv.com for tire packages that have rims and tires. Few words of advice for those of you who have seen the cheap prices on motorcycletireplanet.com the service and you can quote me "flat out sucks" and that is the bottom line.

Recon, Sounds like we ride in similar environments . Do you use a 1 can per 4 wheels? Have you had any problems doing this?

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Fix-a-flat dry up? Why not Slime? That stuff lasts forever and seals up holes better than Fix-a-flat...or so I've been told. I had a rather large plug in the sidewall of my wife's Warrior and it kept leaking slowly. After putting in Slime and riding around for a while it completely sealed and hasn't leaked since. Just wondering if anybody had any negative feedback on the stuff....I haven't heard any. It sits on the counter at my local dealer and apparently sells well because they had to back order twice before I was able get some.

I had the oposite experience. The slime eventually dires up and just leaves a hard crust inside the tire. The fix-a-flat lasts forever. I had a nail in a tire, I pulled it out, and we just watched the tire go flat while the green slime bubbled out. So, I switched.

Well shoot, that's disappointing to hear. Guess I better keep carrying a few plugs just in case.

Whatever you personal preference is, neither slime or fix-a-flat are going to seal the big holes. Always carry plugs, and a way to reinflate you tire. If the hole is to big for the plugs, I hope we all have a ride home!!!

hehe, well, if I am far enough away from home and I cant fix my flat, my quad is my way home. I would rather ruin the wheel that walk say 20 miles. Case in point from my teenage years. Blew out a couple of tires and had one spare so we rode it at the edge of the road for 15 miles all the way to the house. Now, for a 5 mile jog I wouldnt do it. I might of as a teenager though

how about blackwaters? If he just wants a good all around tire, they are very tough. They were designed to be used in the race they were named after
