i gott an extra pair of tires id like to stud up for winter use... but iknow they dontl ast long when you do that... but what if i bought a tire tube? would that work??

 

I'm not sure that a tube would work. It all depends on what ya use for studs. If they penatrate the tire too far they might wear a hole in the tube also. In NY we used sheetmetal screws and then put something like "fix-a-flat" to seal up the holes around the screws. Didn't have too many problems with that.

i think i will put the tube in it... for added saftey and slime my tire ... i was also thinking about using snowmachine studs... any seen those b4?

 

I haven't seen anybody use snowmachine studs b/4. The sheetmetal screws work pretty good on ice until they get worn down.

 

blaster2fast- what tires are the studs goin into i recommend just gettin 1/2 in or one 7/16in. studs do not put tubes in if one stud happen to go all the way through its gonna put a hole in the tube and u will re screwed.. just put slime in.. i dont like slime but if u are afraid of a flat then use it.. just makes a mess on ur rims

 

my stock ones... they are pretty new still got the green line on them...

 

ive heard alot of problems with pepople studding there tires though...goes through are they come out but the tire only last like less than a week...from people i know and what ive heard.. ive never actulyl done it.

you definately don't want to use a tube... I personally use grade 8 bolts, from the inside... chopped off to a point, with washers... then slime... the ice studs will work fairly well, if screwed into the lugs & a long enough stud is used... again, with slime
