Default Outlander Tires

I am looking at getting a new Outlander 400 XT. I am thinking of scrapping the factory tires and putting on ITP Mudlites. I am looking at 26x10x12 on the front and 26x12x12 on the back. My concern with this set up is that it may cause a lot of power loss, and really down grade the performance. Any one have any input or experience with this kind of set up? I'd appreciate your input. Also if you have any other tire suggestions that work well in mud and snow, I am open for advice. I would preferably like to go with a set fo 26" ers.

Thanks

I've heard 10" wide on front is tough to steer.that's like putting your factory rears on the front. I would think about 9" wide on front. Check the weight differences for the factory 25" to the bigger sizes you're looking at. The bigger size plus extra weight may cause some noticable power loss.

I have Mudlite 26X10X12 on the front of my 450 Foreman, and 26X12X12 on the rear. I noticed no loss of power and if it steers harder, I didn't notice it. They're a great tire and that combination looks awesome.

I put 26" MudLites on my King Quad and I don't notice any loss of power, and on a King Quad, you'd notice.

I just put 26" Mudlites mounted on ITP Delta wheels onto my 2000 Kodiak and absolutely love them, and they don't look bad to boot! I have not notice any power loss or mure difficult steering. I only notice a slight bumpiness in the ride at very slow speed due to the 1 1\8 inch deep tread on that tire. After you pick up the speed a bit, the ride smooths right out!

If your concerned about power loss, it wont effect your power much as long as you don't get them too big. I have them now on my quad. When I first got them they were great tires. They are great in trails and mud. They are sopposedly 6 ply rated. I have only had mine since half way through last summer and didnt ride all winter. The Mud lites on my quad are worn down alot. It was a big disappointment to me.
