Do 6 ply tires last longer than 4 ply?? I have Razrs now (not sure 4 or 6, prob. 4). when they wear out, I want to get another set, but if 6 plys last longer, I will go with them, I'm assuming 6 plys have a harder compound. By longer lasting I mean on hard dirt, a lot of rocks, stone roads, and some pavement (don't tell anyone I drive on paved roads!!!) I really don't, I just ride down the road to my uncles house once in a while.

Actually most quad tires are not 4 ply. They are 4ply RATED, meaning that they are really 2 ply with a 4 ply rating. The Pure Sport Bandit is the only one I know of that is a true 4 ply. There may be others but I don't know which ones they are. I prefer a true 4 ply for a couple of reasons: one is that being a stiffer tire than a 2 ply, ther is less rollover in cornering and also less squirming which causes wear. I really don;t know if 6 plies really are 6 plies but they are more rigid than so called 4ply rated tires & would provide better sidewall protection against punctures.
I don't know what you ride, but if your bike would handle the Banditxc you would have great wear characteristics and the Kevlar band rim to rim gives one maximum strength together with almost no roll or understeer in corners. The number of plies don't correlate with the rubber compound necessarily; one 6 ply could be a soft compound while another brand could be hard.
The down side of 6 plies and/or Bandits is that they are slightly heavier due to the additional material and as unsprung weight impose an additional load on your suspension if it is only just adequate now.
