Default tire question

I am looking to get new tries for my 2004 Yamaha Bruin 350 4x4. I am looking at the ITP 589 m/s and the ITP Mud Lites. I like the 589 but am woried that they will take to much power away. And on the Mud lites, could i fit 26's on the back? Any reply is usefull.

I'm not sure how tall you can go with a Bruin. I wouldn't go too big or it'll rob some of your power. If you look at titantires.com/titan_589_mp.htm it gives more info about the 589 than the ITP site. Like overall diameter and weight. The Titan 26x12-12 weighs 34 lbs. while the 27x11-12 weighs 32 lbs. Bigger but lighter. The Mudlites might be better for a 350.

For a 4x4 atv you need to keep the same size tires front and rear. The mudlite is your best bet for nasty stuff on that size of machine, IMO.

Ya, on tires its best to stay with the same stock size...you can increase one inch on overall diameter and on width...have to stay with same rim size...and yes if you go to big then it will eat up your power and wont be good at all

There are a few older Suzukis that I know of that are 4x4 but have one inch smaller fronts. I think I remember a Yamaha or something from the mid 90s that even had 2" smaller fronts. Different gears front to rear makes up for this. Stupid idea in my opion.

Let me clear one thing, I am talking about tire diameter. Most atvs have different widths front and back.

aksafari, That is odd. I can only think that is more of a pain than its worth. Thanks for the info though, you learn something new every day.

I have a 300EX and right now it has 22x12.5x8 Spider Tracks on it is there anything else that I could use that wouldn't take power away or should I keep them? They are on the back only
