Cheapest place for Mud Tires
#2
Hey Wizard,
Everybody in the group I ride with is currently ordering new mud tires. It looks like Cawood Tire (cawoodtire.com) and Highlifter both have pretty good prices, although I wouldn't guarantee the lowest. We're all from Texas so these places were cheaper for us due to freight. We've ordered a set a Vampires, Super Swampers, Outlaws, and Mud Bugs. I'll be happy to give you a report on performance after our next ride (8-12). Feel free to send an email. Good luck with your search - KL

KL,
That would be great. I can't wait to hear how they do. It might change my mind on what to get.
I will wait a little while until I purchase mine. Thanks for the info and please keep me updated.

I'm one of the other guys in the Texas group. I did my homework and went with the Mud Bugs based on price and weight. I've also asked a lot of folks on this forum and on Highlifter's forum and everyone who has the Mud Bugs likes them. Of course I haven't found anyone poo-pooing the Outlaws, Vampires, SuperSwampers or Mud Runners either.

P.S. For the right price, I'll tell you Kyle Logan's real name.

I love my 26 inch mudbugs and I bought them from High Lifter. Some recent reading, I have been doing, some people are really braging up the outlaws. I personally have been out with a few people with goodyear mud runners. Those tires also
perform well. To tell you the truth. I suspect that all those brands must be equally or almost equally good. The advantage of the mud bug that I know of is that it is a light tire. We know that light is good. Reduce the weight. If you did some checking, find out the weight of each tire and add that info. to your decision....
rangerchet 2000 polaris xpedition 425 cc 5-speed, running 26 inch mudbugs with itp magnum billet aluminum rims. Love the setup!
ps: you can see a pic on lurch77's web site.
chet lake xped. 425 cc 5 speed. viewers rides approx. page 4 or 5 I think? Click on the pc to make it bigger. Then you can see those tires and rims pretty good.

No problem on the report. I don't think you could go wrong with any of the heavy duty mud tires out there. Also, with your machine, you shouldn't be limited by cc's. That's the reason I went with Super Swampers. I didn't think my 300 could turn Vamps in the size I wanted. I rode a 450S for a week at a friend's lease that might interest you. He had relatively tall (27"?) and narrow (9.5"or 10"?) Vampires with maybe 27x12x12's on the back. It was a good combination of ground clearance, mudding ability, and driveability. Those tall, narrow tires made the big 450 a little easier to steer, etc. and probably saved a little weight. Anyway, I'm sure you could do a similar setup with any of the before mentioned tires. Thought you might find that interesting.........KL
