Default Tire patch

Is there a tire made (mud tire 27x12x12)(27x8x12) that is thick enough to put a patch on the inside of the tire. This is my 2nd tire that Ive hade to replace in the last 3 months. Have tri claws now and they are not thick enought to put patch on so have to buy a new tire. this is getting old.

Hello, did you ever try running tubes, we have never had good luck keeping a patch stuck to the tire. Because of the low pressure and all the flexing I think. We run 2.5-4 PSI. I have had to put tubes in some without any problems, if you know where there is a hole or cut have a large patch put in to protect the tube. Hope this helps, I hate it when a new tire has to be trashed

Just did not know how well a tube would hold up. You say that you have had doo luck with a tube. Tire has been patched but leaks slowly around patch.

Yea tube it. I had lots of problems with the slow leak 2ply tires, put tubes in them and they have been great.

This could be an embarassing post, but I've 'fixed' both of our recent flats with the old "plug and pump" trick. Wal-Mart plug kit, bicycle pump, and we're on our way.

Last week, when we were getting ready to head out for a ride, my wife noticed her left front tire was flat. Since we were kinda in a hurry, I just pumped it up and off we went. Now, a week later, it's STILL up and firm. What's up with that? And this was not a tire we'd fixed before.

Tommy, maybe the valve has a slow leak that was fixed when you added the air into it. Only takes a small particle to hold the stem slightly open.

Duh, I didn't even think of the valve thing. I'll bet you're right. We just looked at it again yesterday (as we were touring the 'estate') and it is still up.

I guess I'll move on to fixing the three year flat tire on my wheelbarrow.

Glad I could shed some light I'm sure the wheel barrel will roll just like it's brand new
