Works triple rate, or Elka duals
#1
I saw the topic for the overall best suspension, but I wanted to break it down a little. What would be better of the two, Works triple rates or Elka dual rates. I will only buy them new with my custom setup, so the fine tuning can be neglected. I've heard that Works would be the better choice for hardcore trail and xcountry riders, and Elka is better for mx, and larger jumps. I am only concerned with the trails, since that is where I spend all of my time. Thanks for any info.

Having used both shocks, I'd really suggest the Works shock for your purpose. Honestly, the Elkas run extremely stiff, and are really best used for MX, where they excell. I'm not saying they can't be used, but the works are signifigantly softer, but can still take some big hits. I've got Elkas on my EX that is set up for MX, but will probably put triple rate works on my DS, or quad rate works if they become available.
