I have a 97 Timberwolf 2WD and I am looking to get another set of rear tires. I mostly ride hard pack trails and swamps. I currently have 22x12.5-10 Blackwaters on the rear. The Blackwaters have been a very durable tire, Pretty good mud traction too, but I figure it's time to try out another set of tires. I'm looking for a good mud tire that also has good hard pack traction. I have been looking at the Goodyear Mud Runners on the net but haven't been able to find the sizes that they are available in. Does anyone know if the Mud Runners are available in 22"? Also how do the Mud Runners do in mud and hard pack? I've also been looking at the Maxxis Sur Trak, and The Maxxis All Trak tires. I know the All Traks aren't mud tires but They just look like a very good all around tire. Any comments on the tires mentioned or any others that you feel would be a good choice are welcome.

Per email reply from Goodyear Tire and Rubber, Mudrunners are available in the following sizes:
AT26-12-10 AT25-8-11
AT25-10-11 AT25-8-12
AT25-10-12 AT26-9-12
AT26-12-12

Though I've heard that the Mudrunners are an excellent mud and hard-pack tire, I have no firsthand experience with them. Good Luck.

Nope the Mudrunners don't come in anything less than 25". Their a great tire in all conditions. I think I would try the Surtracks.

I've had the 25" MudRunners on a '99 sportsman 500 since last Aujgust. They seem to be a pretty good all-around tire. They work well plowing snow too.

Surtaks of Kenda Bearclaws-they are both durable and give traction that will easily rival the Blackwater.
