New Tires

Funny you picked those two, I am making the same exact decision right now. I have it narrowed down to those two tires, opinions would be greatly appreciated. The Kendas seem to have a flatter profile which would be nice for sliding around corners and getting the rear to break loose and slide more predictably. IMHO

Try posting in the Polaris Section see if you can get corncobs opinion . He has the Bearclaws on his sportsman. I can,t really give an opinion because I Have a Magnum 500 and am running Goodyear mudrunners. just an idea.

Bear Claws have a puncture resistance thingy on them so they hold up better. I think they may cost slightly more but they are a good tire. My friend has them on his yamaha, but he can't follow me because I have vamps. BIG DIFFERENCE. Good luck with your decision.

We have 25" Bearclaws on our Suzuki 250 4x4, and I love them! They tires get a lot more traction than than most people think they do. The Suzuki can now follow some of the "big boys" through the mud wihtout getting stuck. It just doesn't have the power to spin them good.
I ordered 22" Bearclaws for the rear of my Scrambler, after seeing Robert Wingates in action, and him talking me into buying them (I wonder if he got a commision, he sure tried hard to make me buy them!) :-)
I can't wait to try them out. I highly reccamend them to you, and don't think a Sportsman would have any problem at all keeping them clean. It is one of the few tires than looks good, performs well in mud, performs well on hardpack, and doesn't weigh a ton. I have seen Sur Traks, but haven't ridden with them. From what I have seen, the Bearclaws do better.
Good luck.
