Works A-T Steelers
#1
I have a 300EX and I was thinking about getting a pair of Works Steelers on the front end. I think they are about $300 w/out dampening and compression adjustments; does anyone know how much with them? Also, are they stock length wheel travel or longer? Please tell me what you think of them if you own a pair, especially on a 300ex. I am jumping from 6-10 feet and maybe a little more soon so fill me in on their jumping abilities as my stockers seem a tad soft.

My best friend has a 97 300ex. He has about everything that can be purchased for it. He ordered some triple rate fronts with reservoirs and an ultracross rear. He was having some problems with the front bottoming out, so he called Works. They said that there are no such shocks for the 300ex and that it was impossible. Then he sent them to Works and had them revalved. (they are still triple rate) Now they kick a$$. I think they give an additional 1" of clearance. I just bought a 2000 400ex and I am interested in duals (since I am cheap) I think that the Works shocks are excellent and I recommend them highly. I hear that they go bad after a year or two though. I don't know if it is true. The shocks give a much smoother ride on trails, etc...You will have to try it. But he got them for the motocross track. The largest jump that we go over spans 40-48 feet long (depending on where you land), and a measured height of 10-11 feet high. I think it is huge air, but it doesn't compare to my heroes in Quatros Locos or Huevos Grandes. Hope it helps.
