Ball joints?

All these different aftermarket A-arm manufacturers mention that they use automotive type ball joints. What kind of vehicle do they come off of? And, do they need to have the threaded tud machined down to fit into the stock spindles? Thanks

Someone wrote about 2 or 3 weeks ago that the tie rod ends frome a 1970 VW right front (outer) are the ones that Leager uses for his A-arms. I think this is correct, some one might correct me I I remembered wrong. They do go right into the spindle for the R. You might have to have the tierod threaded to the end depending on the A-arm and quad.
