Oversize Tires
#2
I'm not too sure about that one, my friend has a 250 timberwolf and is planning on putting 25'' blackwaters all around but no wider than 10 inches in the rear. If you put 25 inch tires dont get something VERY aggressive i.e. Vampires or claws. Maybe bear claws or blackwaters. Good luck.

You can get away with the 25" X 12" on the rear, but don't get too carried away with the fronts. You aren't spinning them anyway so its just overkill on weight. You would be impressed with Vamps on the back, but not as much if you decided to wind it out in fifth gear.

I'm afraid I have to agree and disagree with Andy on this one. My friend has a 220 bayou with 12.5 inch wide 22 inch tall swampers. When he first got them he lost some power. I really think that a 25 inch vampire is probably too much for the 220. I have 25X12-11 vampires on the back of my 300 and 24X9-11's on the front. I lost a good bit of power but I like the bike with the vampires better than before without them. Even though when in the really gooey stuff I usually cant get out of first gear. It's really all in what you are willing to sacrafice for clearance and superb traction. If you really want a mudder go ahead and get the vamps. I PROMISE you will see a decrease in tire spinning speed first gear will be a must in most mud holes. If you go with a 25 inch bear claw all around, you wouldnt lose as much power but still some. I still say that you lose more power with the extra height of the tire thatn the width. Ask Gordon about that one. It was discussed in the lost 300 postings.
