300 ex wheels and tires

I used to have a 300EX, but I recently upgraded to the 400EX. I had 20-11-9, and 21-7-10's on the front. I loved the rear tires, but the front were too small for the riding I do. I would recommend the 22's for the front unless your racing or somthing. The rear tires, with stock gearing are awesome in sand pits. When I switched to the 20" rear tires, I went up hills all the way in third gear, that I had to shift down into 2 gear before. The downfall was when I was riding the dirt roads around here going wide open. I would hit the rev limiter. I would recomend going to a 36 tooth rear sprocket if you want your top end back. That's what I did and I could actually beat the other 300EX's around by doing that.

Finally, a recommendation for a 36 t sprocket for the rear. I did this, a sidewinder stainless, but when it was installed the chain was didn't fit. The stock chain is 86 links and was too long even with the axle backed all the way out. Then we tried an 84 linker and it was too short...now the stock chain is attached to the stock sprocket. It would be way cool if I could get that neat SW sprocket back on the 300EX and out of the "junk" cabinet. Your help would totally help me out. Thanks
