Default Tire Section question

What's the deal with the tire section size? How wide of a tire can you put on a certain rim? Is there a measurement you need to see if the tires will stick out past the fenders? As long as the wheel size and tire height are right can you run virtually any width?

Default Tire Section question

Well I wouldn't put a tire on a rim if the tire was less then 2 inches wider than the rim....If you buy offset rims or wider tires than the original then more than likely they are goin to be out past the fenders...technically you could run an width of tire about 2 inches wider than tha rim but it depends on your quad obviously bc if you get 10 inch wide tires on a stock Sportsman then it will rub on the tie rods...so it all depends but i hope i answered some of your questions...
