Default Flats and Pressures

I've only had my 1st quad about 2 weeks now, It's a stock Wolverine. I've been using 10 psi. Yesterday I went to about 7 (6 is recommended) and got my first flat. Luckily the guy I bought the quad from enlightened me and I was prepared w/ a compressor and plugs.

Where I am in Northeast Pa is rocks rocks rocks rocks. I know I'm in for a lot of flats mostly slashed sidewalls. My question is to you folk who ride the sharp rocks. Do you pump them up for this? Does it help? I know it's early to tell yet, but I'm predicting that with the tires nice and soft and bulging I'm in for a lot of work. At 10 psi the ride suffers, but can't I just bring it up or down until I find a good comprimise? I'm sure some of you know what I mean about the rocks and would appreciate your opinion/experience.

Thanks !!!!!!!!!!

Joe

You just need better tires! I run Holeshot XC's, which have won more Baja races than any other tire. They are indestructable.

Thanks ReconRanger.

So honestly I'm a little skeptical BUT it does look like a lot of people are using them. Do you ride rocks ??? I guess it's only logical that some sidewalls are tougher than others so there I have it. Someone local is selling some 25" yamaha rims that may fit my pattern. Otherwise they don't make much in my size. I've only seen one tire that would fit so far.

Thanks Again for the Recommendation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Joe

What size rim is on the Wolverine? There's a member here that's running Rockstar's on his Wolverine His Profile and they look sweet. The Rockstars should accept a wide range of tires, but I can't see the Wolverine using an out of this world size. Are they 11" rims?

OK Yeah OW I get the point now. Those are truck tires not quad tires and really nice. That's an incredible setup and a beautiful machine. They would do me right. Thanks guys.

My tire sizes are stock

front 23x8-12

rear 23x10-12

guessing here, the tires are 23"high
rims are 12"

fronts 8" wide
rear 10" wide

maybe rims and tires will be on my wish list or I could pick something up used.
