Default Squeaky Shock..Going Bad?

All of a sudden my front shock on my Honda 400ex is starting to squeak as it comes up from the compression. Is that a sign it's starting to go bad. I tryed a spraylube up into the sleeve. No help.
Thanks
Hershman

Could be a bearing on the suspension or a-arms.

Mine definitely seems to come from the shock - it's not real bad, just midly annoying. Doesn't seem to be leaking - just a bit squeeky.

In my experience from cars, a squeak could be an indication of the shock breaking down. I, myself, would check the inner bushings on the A-arms first. Try this, get a broom stick or something similar. Place one end on the suspected area and put your ear to it. Have a friend work the suspension to pinpoint the sound of the squeak. The stick focuses the sound travel, and it's an old trick of engine mechanics.
