My brakes are real squeaky and its driving me crazy. I use it for work at slow speeds, could this cause the pads to somehow not keep clean? please help.

 

I had the same problem and was told it is just a normal occurance. I bought some stuff called Squeal Medic, applied one coat to each disk, and 400 miles later, still no squeak. Great stuff!

 

tack, I have the same problem on my Kodiak and what I do is apply the brake alittle while moving and the sand and dirt that is stuck to the pad wears off. The squeeky brakes does not happen all the time but this sure does fixes it. AlaskaBoy.

 

My brakes squeaked for a while the first few times I got my sp dirty, but now they dont squeak at all. I guess they were just breaking in or something. I dont think its anything to worry about.

 

My rear brake was squeaking at slow speeds on my 03 700, I found the 4 rotor bolts were loose which allowed the rotor move sideways just enough to cause it to rub the brake pads and squeak. It had no effect on braking, just squeaked at slow speeds. I took the bolts out and reinstalled with loctite and no more squeak.

 

My logging is almost over, too much mud to haul logs, so hopefully I'll be able to bed the pads better with some higher speed trail riding. Thanks for all your help.
