Wetlands, PXT, Carlisle ACT on Rubicon
#1
Does anybody have Wetlands on their Rubicon? If so, how do you like them? I am looking at 26x8x12 for the front and 26x10x12 for the rear. Will I notice a powerloss going to the 26" tire? Should I stick with the 25" tire? Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks

I like em, rides better than stock, steers better too.
Only (minor) issue is that I tore a small corner off a few lugs, I might have run over something sharp. No leak, just a very small chunk taken out of a few lugs up the middle of a back tire. No rubbing so far. No noticable power loss as far as hills, but does not spin the tires as easily, so it may appear that it's lost power (know what I mean?). No vibration either. Got some comparison pictures posted.

Propnut, it looks like you went with the 26"ers. Did you get 26x11x12 or 26x10x12 for the rears? How did the weight compare to your stock tires? Whould you buy a different tire now that you have tried the wetlands?

the tires are the stock width 8" front and 10" rear, but 26 inches tall. Not sure if they make a 26X11, but I know the 25" rear tire is 11" wide.
I did not have a chance to weigh them (yet). I had them mounted the day I got them and didn't have time. However, a friend still has his stock rims and tires and I might do a comparison. What I do know is that they are a heck of a lot lighter than 589s (19lbs front 23 lbs rear is what I was quoted by ITP tech line, compared to 33lbs for the rear 26X12 589)
I'll reserve judgement on whether I'd buy them again over every other tire as I've only got a couple hundred miles so far, but my friend with the 589s likes them and plans to replace his stock tires with the wetlands.
They perform as advertised and I am satisfied. I do have an easier time with mud and they were better than stock in all areas, except maybe weight, but the weight hasn't been an issue yet. They do seem to penetrate soft stuff less (or float on top more) than the stock tires or my friends 589s.
I wish I could tell you they were the best thing ever, but I don't have personal experience with every other tire out there to compare.
