lost reverse gear on 2 week old quad
#1
hello,im new to the quad world so forgive me for any mistakes.ok,i bought a cheap little 150cc quad 2 weeks ago, brand new.it is a 3 speed auto with reverse and it has only been driven in the garage so far, anyway yesterday my friend was flying up and down the garage, skidding at one end then flying back down to the other(its about 120 feet long).all of a sudden i hear a strange noise coming from the bike like as if the chain had come off, like a rrrrrrrrrr when he revved it.the upshot of it is,that it now wont reverse.it goes forward ok but put it in reverse and it just sits and makes the noise.now, unknown to me ,the idiot had been racing to the end of the garage and then slamming it into reverse to make the wheels spin so he could slide round.can anyone tell me what might have happened to the quad?also should i beat the hell out of him?thanks for any help.

If I were on the jury - you would walk on a assult & battery charge.

I'd say the reverse idler possibly has stripped teeth, if you're reeeeaaaaaal lucky only the reverse shifting mechanism came out of adjustment, if it's even adjustable. You probably won't get it fixed under warranty. Your friend should pay for the repairs THEN you should beat the living mortal hell out of that boy. But do it after he pays for the repairs. If you don't beat the hell out of him you're a disgrace to your family and the atv'ing community, well not really, but I like to see a good fight.
