Mudbugs good or bad?
#1
I have an 04' Big Bear and want to upgrade the tires I have looked at the mudbugs and want to know more about them. Do they wear fast like mud lites? Are they tough tires? And do they work well in the mud while giving a decent ride? I want to go one size bigger to 26"s would these rob any power or are they pretty light?

I have 26" Gators (basically the same tire) and they wear real good. I have about 2500 miles on mine and they still have some of the dual stage lug left, so I'd say about 70% left. They are reall smooth, just a little stiffer due to their 6ply rating, but perform great in the mud!
One of the best all around tires!

Mud Bugs are slow wearing tires. They do extremely well in the mud, both forwards and in reverse and have good self-cleaning properties. They are one of the lighter mud tires out there. They have a very good trail ride.

I agree, I had 589's which were the best wearing tire but very heavy. I would stay with the 26's due to weight issues because 26" tires will take you the same places a 27" will.
The only issue I have is my Gators, almost the same tire, is my face tends to get muddy due to my rims have a 1.5" offset. Price one pays for good trail and mud tires!
If want the a better wearing tire buy Dirt Devils but your mud performance will suffer.
Happy trails.
