Default Tire Leak

I have Maxxis razrs (the ones that come on the TLD preddy) and there is no cracks or holes on them, but it seems there is a very slow leak. Since it is summer and i havent ridden for a while, they have just been sitting. But they went from about 4.5 psi to about 2.5. What is the problem?

Check the value stem, may not be seated tight.

Somebody told me that if sand gets in, it can make it deflate. Is that possible??
