Radial tire opinions wanted
#1
I keep hearing about how great radial tires are on a quad, and I'm wondering if there is any type of terrain that they don't accel in. I'm wanting to know how they do on rocks...on off camber side-hilling...and different types of mud.

yes to radials for hardpack, rocks, handling
my wetlands are better than stock in mud too, but I'm not a hardcore mudder so I don't have the experience to say they're better than anything else in mud

I can agree with propnut on the radial tires. I also have a set of Wetlands on a Kodiak, and it really improved the handling, and performance in all conditions. I am looking forward to using them in the snow this winter, I have a new snow blade, so I will get the chance to try them when plowing. The Wetlands are showing some wear, I have about 600 miles on mine and a moderate amount of that is on paved roads. With the gas prices I have been riding it to work, it is cheaper than my full size 4x4 pickup, so that has put a few paved road miles on it, about 12 miles a day.

I agree about road wear, but not too many AVT tires do good on pavement. My friend's 589s show little wear from the pavement, but a tire with lugs that thick shouldn't wear as quick. I would guess that the compound of the 589 is a little higher duro too.
These tires still ride a ton better than the 589s. Our two Rubicons ride like 2 completely different machines. He is planning on a set of Wetlands for his stock rims, he likes the ride so much better than the 589s.
