Spider Trac tires?
#1
There are several sets of 25" ITP Spider Trac tires on steel rims on ebay for pretty cheap. I'm assuming these tires have been discontinued since I can't find much info about them online. Just wondering if anyone has any experience with them and if they would be worth buying. I ride mostly on gravel, hardpack and rocky/uneven trails, and some riding on muddy trails and snow.
BTW, these would be going on a 2000 Sportsman 500. The stock tires are 8" wide in the front and 11" in the rear. These Spider Tracs are 9 1/2 " in the front and 12 1/2". How would this increase in width generally affect my ride (regardless of the tread)?

I had a set on my 2001 sportsman 400 with chrome rims. They are a good tire, however, they they throw mud all over the rider, and are a little harder to turn. They are now sitting in my shed. If you buy them used, make sure they have plenty of tread...otherwise, you'll get stuck in the snow (trust me, I know).

the width of em will make your sportsman more stable. i had these tires on my old 250, but they were 22". they helped out a lot in the mud compared to stock, but were heavy-your 500 probably wouldnt have a problem with their weight though. in my opinion, there are better tires out there

I have a set on my Trailblazer 250. They were on it when I bought the thing about 3 weeks ago. Seem to fit nicely on this sport quad. Great grip in the sloppy stuff, but as mentioned earlier they do throw the muck around....but I like that...especially when my kids are behind me....LOL

I may have a good deal on a set of spider tracs and trying to do some research here first... I have an 02 Warrior and I run mostly dry trails with a few shallow creeks and mud pits here and there. Are these any good on the dry stuff or are they not worth getting for my riding habits?
