I want to add 27" bi-claws to the front and 27" tri-claws to the rear. However the stock rear rims are only 10". Do I need to get 12" rims. I know that the tri-claws come in 10" and I can't afford to upgrade both rims and tires. Will the 10" work ok and if I change to the 12" rear rims, will I lose some low end.
Thanks for your help.

I just went to 12" rims with 26" Mud Sharks, I like the looks of the claws, but like you couldn't aford both. I got the rims cause I plan on up grading tires in a year or so. Better to get what you realy want a little at a time than to settle for something you have to talk yourself into. On the low end power, it has nothing to do with rim size, it's the diameter of the tire. 27" on a 10" rim will be exactly the same as a 27" on a 12" rim, of course the weight of the tire also plays into that. If your buying your tires localy, check the internet for better prices. Hope this helped.

if you have the tires you like and they fit stock wheels dont waste your money on wheels as theyre going to get beat anyway.id use the stock until they couldnt be used anymore..i just went thru this and decided on 26 inch mudrunners that fit on stock wheels,i did find a set of stock wheels for cheap money so i could keep the stock tires mounted

Thanks for the info. If and when I upgrade my rims, what are the correct offsets for the Sp500ho? I guess 4+3 on the front, but the back I am not to sure. Can I run a 12x8? Will the 12x8 bulge and protect the rim? Offset 3+4, to move it in toward the frame and under the fender.
Thanks.
