589's

I finally got far enough into tires to discover there are two 589's, Titan's 589 MT and ITP's 589 M/S. In just looking at pictures on the web, they look very similar. Is there a big difference and which is the prefered tire?

meatdogspot, I still have no idea on the 589's but I believe that the ITP Mud Lite XL's have a deeper lug (1 1/8th") than the regular Mud Lites and the XTR's are radials where the others are 6 ply bias ply tires.

The titan 589s have sipes in the middle of the treads and I think they have a slightly better rim guard.Titans have been hard to get. ATV tire production only happens when they are caught up on all the other tires they make.

My local AC dealer has the Titan 589s, but I can't decide what size to go with for a 2006 AC 500 auto - 26's or 27's. What do you think?

I would go with the 26's, becasue the 589 is an aggressive tire anyways. And no matter what anyone says the bigger the tire, the bigger the strain on the machine. Though I'm putting 27's on my brute next tire change.
