Default Suspension Kit for Vinson

Hey guys, I found a " long travel suspension kit " on 4atvtires.com for a $100. Would this thing be worth buying? Would it allow me more adjustment for my stock shocks, or would they need replacing w/ it? I would like to get a more " cushy " ride evey now and then. Or, is there anything else I could try w/o buying new Elka's or anything? I LOVE the sporty handling of my Vinny, but would like to be able to soften it up some when I want to. I'm currently looking for better tires also. They will be stock size. I WAS sold on the Mud Lites for their light weight, but I really like the Swamp Foxes tread better ( they're 7 lbs heavier per tire though ) Would that rob my power badly? My Vinny is piped and jetted. Don't wanna lose ANY more power than necessary!

If it's the Perfex kit you're refering to, I just read a couple threads about it on another forum (ATV Frontier) and the guys that have it really seem to like it. They say it is a quality kit that installs easily and really makes a big difference in the ride quality. The kit uses your stock shocks and offers multiple settings for ride comfort by allowing you to change the shock location on the new mounts in the kit. I'm toying with the idea of getting the same kit for my Wolverine. I ride on very tight trails with rocks (lots of rocks) and downed trees and the softer ride would allow for better suspension movement/articulation. My factory shocks are fairly stiff and my tires spend more time in the air and less time on the ground than I would like. I'm thinking this kit would go a long way towards solving that. I'm very tempted to get the kit myself.

A full list of applications can be found at the link below:

Yeah, that's the one I was looking at. Couldn't figure out how it worked. It looks like a strong consideration, especially if it gives more adjustment. It's actually $90 bucks for my Vinson. You don't think that big bar hangs out too far do you? Man, that would hang up on EVERYTHING! Maybe not, looks like it may bolt to where the trailer ball goes? I looked at that forum, and can't find anyone talking about it. Where did you see them at?

Nevermind, I found it. Those guys seem to be in " hog heaven "! Nothing but GREAT responses ! That's rare to have ALL good feedback! If that thing can make Hondas ride that good, I'm sold!!! Think I may break out the debit card in a day or so!!!

There are quite a few threads about the Perfex kit on that site. Just use the search feature and the keyword "Perfex" and 10-15 threads come up about it. I read them all. The only people that had fitment issues were the Traxter owners (frame changes between model years it seemed), everybody else had an easy time with the install and loved the results. One of my concerns was the angle of the CV joints after the install, but after reading some of the threads I see the kit only mildly increases their angle, not nearly so much as a lift kit. I'm still looking for pics of a kit actually installed on a quad, haven't found any yet...

Well, I already bought mine! Did it on-line about an hour ago! ( $ 99.85 inc. shipping ) It seems to be just what I've been looking for. Like I said B4, if it helps Hondas that good, I can only imagine what it can do for my Vinson! About the bar hanging out, went downstairs and looked, and if it does hang out a little too far, I think I could " rig " something up. ( Sorta like a Mini skid plate ) My brother is good at welding. Thought about printing him a pic to see if he could just make me one, but I don't think he could make the shackles though!!! It should be here about the end of next week, and WILL go on as soon as I get it. I'll try to let you know how it goes. THANKS!!!! P.S.---- PM me towards the end of the week in case I forget ( I'm BAD for that! )
