Default MUD LITE XTR vs BIG HORNS in slippery trails

My friend is going to be purchacing a 2006 kodiak 450. We are looking for the best HARD PACK/WET/SLIPPERY riding tire . If you have only two options, ITP MUD LITE XTR (radial) or MAXXIS BIG HORNS (radial), for this specific trail conditions:
1. Wich one is the better for you?
2. Why?

the big horns are more for hard pack and rock climbing the other are more for mud i think the bighorns have a bigger foot print and the ride would be better

boss is right imo. if you are gonna have more slime than dry, go mudlite. if more dry, go Bighorns. i have the bighorns and really like them, but i don't ride in the slop very much. mostly various sizes of rock and some old mining roads. the wet stuff that i do come across, the bighorns are fine for.

OR try the new Terracross R/T. look like a cross between the two. i have not read any reviews of these yet tho...
