Default Lug Nuts and rims

Just bought my first ATV and had the lug nuts on one side come all off but one. Now the rim where the bolts come through to hold it on all hte holes have been enlarged a bit. do I need new rims?

Thanks

Brad

Im a little confused. Are you saying the lug nuts themselves pulled through the rim holes???????? Thats unheard of, unless you really overtightended them, i mean really bad!

Sounds like the lugs had come loose and it was riden on that way. Which egged out the holes in the rim. If this is the case then yes I would say new rims are in order but then again I am not an ATV mechanic but have been an auto mech for yrs. Maybe someone else will have a more knowledgeable answer for ya.

yes it 'egged' out the holes a bit. I can still put the lug nuts on the bolts do not pull through yet. Question restated is how tight do the holes need to be around the lugs.

Thanks

Use it as an oportunity to upgrade to something better! A change in tires/rims can make your quad into a different machine........

What kind of machine???
