Default Carlisle Badlands XTR tires

I would like to try a set of radial tires on my ATV and would like to know if anyone has had experience with Badlands XTR tires. How did they ride and perform for you? These are offered in 25-11R-12 which would be the same size as my rear OEM tires.

There are a lot of choices for radial tires in 25-10R-12, what would be the pros/cons of switching to a slightly narrower rear tire?

I understand that these tires are OEM on some of the Can-Am Outtys?

and AC 650s? Now Outtys use the Carlisle ACT, which is the same as the DU Wetlands radial and similar to the PXT.

When I was looking at radials, I had done some research on the Badlands. There were quite a few sets of new take-offs on ebay. Most owners complained about flats and traction.

I decided to go with the Duck's Unlimited Wetlands radials.

I guess you don't have the Polaris PXT, which is a cousin to the DU Wetlands tire. Heard nothing but good things about these tires and my experience has been good. Not a hard core mudder, but that isn't what I wanted. The Mudlite XTR may be worth looking at too.

My Polaris came with Carlisle AT489 tires. They seem to be good tires, have been able to go anywhere I've wanted so far (only have 350 miles on machine). Thought I would look into a tire with similar tread pattern in a radial design. Most of my riding has been on hard packed and sand trails, some areas with cobble and rubble rocks, and not a lot of very deep mud.

Other tires that I am considering are ITP Holeshot ATR and Kenda Bounty Hunter radials in 25-10R-12.

Are there any special considerations going from a 8 inch wide rear wheel to a 7?

I wore out a set of them on a 2004.5 Sportsman. I liked them, they ride greatand they have great traction out here in the west. I like the Polaris PXT radial tires better, though, and that is what they were replaced with.

I have a new take off PXT set on polaris aluminum rims and I have a set with about 400 miles on them. I will sell either set. I see you are from MI upper or lower.

BigDog800EFI,

I live in the SE corner of the lower, but keep the machine up at a co-workers in the lower peninsula near Cheboygan not too far from the bridge.
