Mounting Paddles
#1
Maybe a dumb question but I have heard mixed answers.
I have just picked up and mounted new Skat Trak Extreme paddles and wheels on my Raptor 700r. The paddles were already mounted on the wheels. Upon inspection I noticed that my hubs don’t line up which causes the paddles to be offset from each other. So here is my question. Do the paddles HAVE to line up on both sides of the quad for a straight launch or is it just preference and riding style?

It's easy to time your tires. Just pull the cotter pin and remove the castle nut on the end of the axle that holds the hub in place. You want to do this with the tire/wheel still mounted to the hub so that when you slide the hub off the axle and turn it till the tires are timed(paddles are lined up from one side to the other). Then retighten the castle nut and replace the cotter pin. The ride will be much better on hardpack.

Thank you very much. I already have my hub off and was waiting for a definitive answer. Time to hit the dunes this weekend with paddles instead of my *****.

Sometime if the bead isn't to tight, you can flat the tire and just shimy it on the rim until they line up.
Better yet, when I have the tires mounted, I make sure they line them up from the get go!
