Default How do I remove shock bushings?

Ok, Im trying to remove the upper bushings from a pair of works shocks off a banshee and also 400ex shocks. The bottoms came right out of both easy. The upper bushings are being a pain. The 400ex bushings have some sort of rubber around them holding them in tight. Should I just beat on them and try to knock them out? For the works shocks I have no idea what to do. I tried prying them apart with a flathead screwdriver where they overlap the outside of the eyelets but they are solid. I dont want to take a chance on ruining this set of works. Does anyone have experince removing bushings from works or stock suspension? Thanks!!
