Default Help with z400 tires

My back two tires on my z400 need replacing. The type of riding i do is mainly motocross and flat track . Although i do the odd trail ride with my buddies once every month or two. I need new back tires but don't want to buy new front ones yet, so i need some tires that will be able to go with stock front tires. I'm also wondering, what size back tires should i go with for the riding i do.

Any help much appreciated

Default Help with z400 tires

I don't have any personal experience with either MX or flat track, but short tires seems to be the hot settup. I know that folks riding the new Suzuki 450 (comes with 18" rear tires), have a second set of taller tires for the trail.........

Go with the IRazr radials..........

Just about everyone I know with a z400 has put these on all around and love them. There are still some old school guys sticking with the bias ply Holeshots as replacement but since the z400 was designed with radials in mind I think they handle better with radials as replacements........ I even know a few guys who've bought the stock Dunlops as replacements because they loved them so much.

i would rather use razrs or holeshots.stock tires on a z suck it up and irazrs wear out to fast.

I heard the Irazrs wear out quickly too, but have no experience with them. I have Holeshot HDs and they can't be beat on the trail. They pull through everything. I've had them over a year and I swear they haven't worn down a bit. They are heavy though, and I think I'm going with a lighter tire for an all around tire (trail, mx, etc) but for just trail, I love them. Also ran original Razrs and they bit pretty good as well, and much lighter. Might be going with them again. All sizes were 20s.

I just got the irazrs for my 450r. They do lok cool but have yet to test ride them. I cant see going wrong with any radial. They say doug gust races with the stock dunlop radial's that come on the z, their that good!
I had razrs 2 on another quad and they lasted forever.
