Whats the difference between 520 and 530 chain? I am guessing the 530 is a little wider. I have a new 530 and am wondering if I can make it work on my raptor. Extra cash to spend on the quad is at a minimum and I need the raptor to get to work cheaper. Dang gas prices are rediculous.....

530 is wider and stronger than a 520 in tensile strength. Though they both are 5/8 inch from pin-to-pin. You could still run a 530 chain on 520 or 525 pitch sprocket but will have a gap in between the tooth and inner sideplate....since there is no side force pushing or pulling, the sprocket will stay align under a load. So, using a 530 chain with 520 sprockets is do-able but I see it mainly in drag racing only. When your jumping around, it makes me a bit uneasy. On your quad, stick with the 520 and call these guys for a strong chain and sprocket if you are gonna have many engine mods and increased horsepower...Text They will walk you through gearing too!

Also... not for nothing.... From my dirtbiking days.. I ALWAYS used STEEL Sprockets..... the weight you save from aluminum ones is such a joke, yet they wear alot faster.... you are talking ounces of weight saved...
