Default Tire Pressure Question

I had posted earlier about which tires to buy. Ended up buying a set of used ITP Mud Lites on Ozark rims. I think I got a heck of deal. $90 with shipping.

I had also voiced concerns about tire weight which you folks kindly replied to. These new to me tires mounted weigh exactly what my old ones weighed (24 lbs). So I should see no loss in power or anything which pleases me. Now I have 2 sets of rear tires. One I can play on dry dirt with and another I can play in the mud and snow.

Since it has rained here in the midwest for what feels like the last 40 days and 40 nights, riding this weekend should be a muddy experience. So the tires are on and the tank is filled.

Original sticker tire pressure on the Ozark rears is 2.9 lbs. Should I also run the new tires at that ?

Default Tire Pressure Question

I have no personal experience with the MudLites, but with a non-stock tire I just have to experiment. I say start at 4 lbs., and go up and down from there at 0.5 lb. intervals and see what the machine likes.

My Ranchers have always been very sensitive to having the exact tire pressure. Get it a little off and I get bump steer, or a sloppy ride...stuff like that.

Default Tire Pressure Question

4.5 is optimal on almost any low pressure ATV tire
