How do tire sizes affect the way your machine performs? Is BIGGER better when you go to replace the factory tires.

up to a point, bigger is better on a utility or anywhere you need clearance. But you do drop in power, due to effectivly changing the gear ration of the quad 50mph drops to 45 mph. but you gain an inch in clearance.

On my Ranchers, big tires just ruined the sweet handling of the stock machine!!!

Ive never went bigger, and wont. I would just worry about wear and tear. Also, i have a three year warranty that would be VOID.

Yea... I got 2 years warranty on my Grizz 450... can't get bigger tires unless I want to void that... but I do have 1 year done I might go with 26" tires.. still have plenty of time to decide..

question. did your dealers tell you that if you put biggerr tires on it would void the warrenty? or is that what you were told by someone else? when i wanted bigger tires on my bike a friend told me the same thing, "You'll void the warrenty." i did it any way and after doing some rough rock crawling i snapped my axle, twice. i took it in both times and they didnt question my bigger tires (28's) . guess my dealer doesnt care because he still gets paid either way and he knows ill come back again for the good customer service. i have noticed the difference from my factory axle to my new ones. the new ones are thicker and havent broke since then . 4 years with the same tires and no problems.

You're right most dealers don't care. Mine doesn't either. But why not save the old tires and if anything happens, take them to Joe's Pool Hall and Tire Shack and have them remounted. Then take the bike back. Works for me.
