I have a 2001 Honda Recon 250. Has anyone ever tried to put 250ex shocks on a Recon? Will it work? Any info would be great.

 

I bet it would work,the ex shocks are only 3/4 of an inch taller.

Yeah, i don't know why they wouldn't work. I had a recon, and my brother has a 250ex. When compared side to side there really isn't anything different at all in the suspension. I don't know that the 250ex shocks would be much or any improvement though. Personally I think the 250ex shocks are pretty bad even on the ex, then add the extra 50 pounds of the recon and... might not work out so good. I think what you can use though are 300ex shocks, at least for the front. They're a little longer as well, but I know somebody that did the same with 300ex shocks on the recon, and it worked out really well for him. I think i've heard of a raptor 660 shock working for the rear of the recon, but check into that more before you take my word on it.

you can use a 2001 raptor 660 rear shock on the back of it. Only 2001 though...
