Just looking for some pointers here. I know that atv/s have came along way with the 450's in the past few years. but i have a 2001 660(updated tranny), really want to do some cross country type racing. Would it be cost efecive / competetive to upgrade to aftermarket suspension/ shocks or just bite the bullet and purchase a 450? say the KTM 450 / 525 ( i know they are expensive) o what?

 

Id say if you would have to price out the cost of getting new a-arms, shocks, wider axle and a rear shock revalve, if the costs exceed half the value of the quad then I recommend just using that money instead as a downpayment towards a new quad. Also consider the state and condition of the motor as you are going to race it .
