I bought an 02 blaster, brought it home, rebuilt the carb, and now it runs like brand new. However there is a noticably loud rattle coming from what appears to be the jug. The carb is running a good mixture I believe, there is 120 compression, and it rattles at idle or in gear. I know 2 stroke air cooled engines are notorious for making noise but this is the first one I've owned and I'm wondering if there is something wrong cause I have nothing to compare it to. I have a 2 stroke banshee that sounds nothing like this thing. Any thoughts? Should I bring this in and let a mechanic listen to it?(kind of a hassle). It should have very few miles on it according to previous owner, who claims he never noticed a rattle.

 

those little 2 strokes really like high octain gas try that before you get to nevous.
