ITP Tire Pressure

ITP Tire Pressure
I have 27 R14 ITP mudlite XTR and have absolutely loved them from day one, the look and the way they go through just about everything amazes me. The other day a group of us just started out on the trail, a little rocky but nothing major and I was warned by a friend following that my tire was going flat. Upon inspection it appeared there was a slash in the sidewall. Lucky me we plugged it with about 7 plugs and it got me through the day. My question is what pressure should I have them set at. On the tire it says max of 7psi. I have been riding with them at about 5psi to date. Which is harder on the tire, less pressure or more pressure, your guys experienced theories are more than welcome?

your pressure sounds right in the ballpark. I run about 4psi and I have friends that run from 7-2.5. For rocks, I would think that lower psi would make for a much better ride and better traction, but would leave the sidewalls more exposed to cuts. I would write or call itp raising hell. I wouldn't think that tire would rip like that. Isn't that the radial? It should be tough.
