Default Help me find some Sand Tires

Hi.

I just picked up a 08 Z400 about a month ago, been riding out at hungry valley a couple of times and maybe out in los padres next week.

I need some innexpensive paddle tires for when I go out to Glamis on the weekend of the 14th of November. I just dont want to expend too much, well because im in a bit of a budget. Im also a bit confused to what size tire and rim combo to get for my Z.

Loving my z400 so far, and also thinking of investing in the flexx bars since my shoulders are sore for days after about a 5 to 6 hrs or riding..

any help..?

if your goin to get new rims and tires you just the same size rims you have which i believe are 10's if my memory serves me correct. if you are just getting tires, when you are shopping there will be 3 number(20x11x10) the last number is your rim size. i would stick with around 20 inch tires for height. i have the gecko's and they are mean man. hope this helps

THanks for the reply.

Yes I want to get the rims and tires together. I was hopping someone would be able to direct me to a place with some good deals. Looking for a pair of rear paddles with rims for 150-160 OTD max.

Are suzuki rims .190? And can I go with like an 8 inch rims as long as they are 190?

Chaparral has tires mounted up and ready to go. There is a place in Orange County that has good deals on tires, but I can't remember the name. I will make a few phone calls (everybody is at Glamis this weekend, except me).

As for what tires to recommend, that is pretty difficult. The absolute only ones I like are the buffed down Skat-Traks, because they are so light compared to the new generation of molded sand tires that are out there. Don't think you will find any deals on them, however.....

Recon, isn't there a place out there that rents them too?

Seems I remember posts that one of the places out that way has someone close by that does.

Just a thought, in case buying is too expensive.

You can always see what they have on Craigslist.

What I would do is look on your local news classifieds where you live for a used set, if they have any. Where are you located?

For your Z400 a 20x11x8 or 20x11x9 or 20x11x10 are perfect sizes. Like Reconranger I would highly recommend getting some Skat trak Haulers or even gliders with 6 or 7 paddles. You don't want any more than 7, but 6 would be ideal for duning. I run 20x11x9 8 paddle haulers on my Z400 and they're a little too much paddle. Also I would get the .125 rims if you can, they're lighter, and the lighter the better. .190's should be your last choice. You can definitely find a good deal out there for easily under $160 for rims and tires. Good luck man!
