Works shock preload

I have Works shocks with "clip" type preload adjustment. I was told that a press was necessary to compress the shock and move the clip. Has anyone done this themselves, and if so, what did you do and how did you do it? All inputs are appreciated.

I adjusted mine. Cam at 11, too stiff, backed them up to 8. Jacked up the front end to take load off shocks. I pushed down on collar that holds springs with both hands while buddy moved clip with screwdriver. I only weigh 160 but I was able to do it.
