Holeshot madness?
#1
Hey guys,
first off let me say that I am sorta a newb when it comes to Sport Atv tires. I have only bought tires for utility atvs and dirt bikes, so I apologize if I seem ignorant, please be patient. lol
So I need a sport tire for a Sport atv. I do alot of trial riding on dirt, clay, and then silt such as in a strip mine. I have always heard Itp Holeshots were the best. So today when I looked up the prices I found there was literally 10 types of holeshots.
What types do you guys have experiance with? Should I even be looking at holeshots?

Over many years I have tried a few different tires, but keep coming back to Holeshots!
I would go to their web site and carefully pour over the descriptions and see what fits your riding style and your machine.
I ride desert and mountain woods trails, and run XC's and occasionally when I want more ground clearance, XCT's. These are good all-around tires, and are absolutely indestructible!
The H-D's should be a great all-around tire for eastern rutted trails.

I did try H-D's at one point, and found that they tended to make the back end of the quad squirm badly, on the nasty monster hillclimbs I have in my neighborhood. I talked to ITP about it (their offices are in the area, so they understand local riding conditions), and they guessed that because there is a lot of hardpack the rather stiff H-D's don't give enough, and that is the cause.
These tires are all wider than stock, and I mount them on ITP Baja rims (wider than stock and have a greater offset than either stock or Douglas), so the quad ends up several inches wider...for a very nice increase in cornering stability!
