Nice review of Maxxis Bighorn tires.

Like the authur in the article, we here in Wyoming also have the opportunity to ride any road except interstate if the ATV is licenced and meets some safety standards. So the same is true about wearing out tires premature. However talking to several people who have owned the Big Horn tires found the same problem the authur found.
On slick rock or traveling slick side hills, they had a big problem with sliding sideways. Some to the point of being dangerous when traveling ridges with 100' drop-offs. Most people running the Big Horns did brag on the tread life and overall traction. However most people I have talked to have switched to either the Terra Cross if they liked the radial feel or the Mud Lites if staying with a byas tire.
The Terra Cross seems to have become the tire of choose for most in the West and is holding up quit well on the pavement and the tread design does real well on slick rock and side hills.

I agree. The terracross are excelent tires and wear very well. They work well in sand, mud, rocks and on hard surfaces like pavement. ITP hit a home run with this tire.

I like both tires tho if you read the user comments at ITP TerraCross R/T | Rocky Mountain ATV/MC
There are a few people having some issues with the TC's say vs the BH's . JFYI
